Who writes
Every guide carries the name of its editor. Today that is one of the two founders of Nordsek Oy: Jim Forsbom, who has worked in consumer credit for over a decade, and Robert Karjalainen. As the team grows, each editor's background appears on the guide and on the about page. Freelance writers may draft; a named editor is responsible for every published page.
Where facts come from
Primary sources first: the text of EU regulations and directives, publications of the European Central Bank, the European Banking Authority and the European Securities and Markets Authority, and the registers and guidance of national supervisors. Provider facts come from the provider's own published terms. We link or name the source for every figure that a reader might want to check. We do not use other comparison sites as sources.
How facts are checked
Before publication a second person checks every figure, date and legal reference against its source. Guides that describe a product category are checked against the current EU directive and the national rules of the countries named. Representative examples are recalculated, not copied.
Use of AI tools
We use AI writing tools to draft and edit. Every published page has been reviewed, fact-checked and approved by a named editor who is responsible for its content. AI tools are not a source; the sources above are.
Updates and review
Every guide is reviewed at least once a year, and immediately when a regulation it relies on changes. The last-updated date on each page is the date of the most recent review or correction, not the date of publication.
Corrections
If you find an error, write to us through the contact page. We check, correct the page and note the correction. Substantive corrections are noted on the page itself; typographical ones are made silently.
Independence from partners
Providers that pay Nordsek referral fees, listed on the partners page, do not see guides before publication and cannot commission, edit, veto or pay for them. A guide may name a provider when it is relevant to the reader; that decision is the editor's. How we make money is explained on its own page.
What our guides are not
General information, not personal advice. Nothing on this site takes your circumstances into account, and nothing is a recommendation to take, or not take, a particular product.
Comments
Readers may comment on guides. Comments are reviewed before they appear. We remove spam, abuse, personal data and anything that promotes a provider, and we do not answer questions that would amount to personal advice.
