The rule for every partner
A provider appears on a Nordsek country site only if it is licensed or registered for the product it offers by the competent authority of that country, and stays on the register. We check this on a quarterly basis against the public registers named below. Nordsek itself is a comparison service and is not supervised as a financial institution; the providers reachable through the service are.
Finland (nordsek.com)
The Finnish comparison works with licensed loan brokers, who in turn place applications with lenders. Consumer credit providers and brokers in Finland are registered with and supervised by the Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA), which took over this register from the Regional State Administrative Agencies in July 2023.
Netherlands (nordsek.eu/nl)
Consumer credit providers and intermediaries on the Dutch site hold a licence from the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM); banks and payment institutions are supervised by De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) or their home-country supervisor under the EU passport. Business lending is not a licensed activity in the Netherlands; those partners are listed with their quality mark where they hold one. Where a partner is supervised outside the Netherlands, the table says so.
EU-wide licences
Banks, investment firms, payment institutions and crypto-asset service providers licensed in one member state may serve customers across the EU. For these we verify the home-country licence in the registers kept by the European Banking Authority and the European Securities and Markets Authority.
How partners pay us
A referral fee per click, per completed application or as a share of first-year revenue, as explained on the how-we-make-money page. Payment never affects a provider's position in a comparison.
